Tentative Schedule Outline:
DAY 1 (Wednesday April 11):
| 9am -10:30am: |
Lecture 1: Introduction to ascidians- Overview of the taxonomy of the class Ascidiacea, and the 3 orders Phlebobranchia, Stolidobranchia, Aplousobranchia. |
| 10:30am-12pm: |
Examination of freshly collected, live, identified and labeled material in lab (hopefully local representatives of all 3 orders). |
| 12pm-1pm: |
Lunch |
| 1pm-3pm: |
Dissection of a representative phlebobranch, including of live and preserved Ciona. |
| 3pm-4:30pm: |
Lecture 2: Ecology, Physiology and Reproduction |
DAY 2 (Thursday April 12):
| 8:30am-9:30am: |
Lecture 3: Ecology, Bioinvasions
9:45am-12pm: Dissection of a preserved solitary stolidobranch (e.g. Styela clava and/or Styela plicata).

Lunch |
| 1pm-4pm: |
Examine some colonial species. Continue examination of live and/or preserved species of any of the 3 orders. |
